  • 1- What should I do with my pet?
This depends on your personal preference: If you want a peaceful resting place, we have private burial plots. If you want your pet with you, we offer private cremation and we have a large selection of urns to choose from if you so desire. If you do not want to spend much we do offer the group burial and group cremation.

  • 2- What should I know about your business or other companies in your feild?

    Research the company:
    * 1- Check their website. Do they show their prices for their services? How long have they been in business?
    * 2- Can you bring your pet to the company in person? This is a definate YES at Rolling Acres Complex. If you can not at other companies - WHY???
    * 3- Can you get a tour of the company? At Rolling Acres Complex you are more than welcome during business hours. If you can not at other companies, again - WHY???
    * 4- Can I be present for the burial or cremation? At Rolling Acres Complex , YES, if you want to be present. You can be present for the burial or you can be present for the entire cremation but it does take time. There are no insurance problems or issues, because you will not touch or open the crematory during the cremation process or the cool down, but you can oversee me doing my job. (We do ask you to schedule your cremation, if you want to wait for the cremation.) If you can not at other companies - What do they have to hide, and again - WHY???
    * 5- Can I place my pet into the crematory, so I know I have a private cremation? (This option must be scheduled) As long as the crematory is cold, the first cremation of the day you can do this option. We do have people that want this option and that is fine as long as it is the first cremation of the day. If you can not at other companies - What do they have to hide, and again - WHY???
    * 6- Can I be present for the removal of my pets cremains? With Rolling Acres Complex, YES, we can call you when he/she is ready to be removed from the crematory (if you are not already here). After you arrive you can WATCH ME remove and process the cremains and place him/her into his/her container or urn, if desired. If you can not at other companies - WHY???
    * 7- YOU MAY NOT NEED ALL OF THESE OPTIONS BUT KNOWING WHERE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER IS GOING IS A GREAT COMFORT. Is your family member going to a dedicated company whose main income is from burials and cremations or are you going to a crematory that is behind someone's house, or are you going to a company that is doing several different things away from the burial and cremation services.

THE DECISION IS YOURS FOR WHERE YOUR PET GOES!

YOU decide what is in your pet best interest, NOT A VET CLINIC.

  • 3- How long does it take to cremate my pet?
Generally speaking it takes 3 to 4 hours for the cremation process, but once the cremation is done the crematory must cool down about 2 to 4 hours. Usually we remove the cremains the following morning. We do have two crematories at our business.

  • 4- When can I get my pet cremains back to me?
Usually we can get the cremains back to you in 2 business days, unless we have a large number of customer coming in. We do call as soon as your pet is ready and you may pick up him/her anytime after the call.

  • 5- What if my veterinarian offers a different service than what I want?
We have had customers tell us horror stories about veterinarian clinics requiring customers to use only their options - their cremation or take your dead pet home with you. (no burial or other cremation options) These same clinics will not tell there customers about Rolling Acres Pet Cemetery because either they never hear of us (We have been in Lincoln for 30 yrs and we drop off brochures every 6 months to these clinics.) or they tell the customer that they supposedly have agreements with another particular company. You can decide to use your own preferred company if you want. You may have to get angry at them, but if you want something different - REMEMBER, YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER. If you want something different demand it this is YOUR family member. If they will not help you with that then - I recommend taking your business some place else. The customer gets what the customer wants. IF ALL ELSE FAILS, ONCE YOUR PET HAS PASSED AWAY, PICK YOUR PET UP AND TAKE YOUR PET WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE, AND YOU TAKE YOUR PET WHERE YOU WANT TO TAKE HIM/HER. IT IS YOUR CHOICE! not the vet clinic's choice.

  • 6- What will the cremains of my pet look like?
The cremains coming from Rolling Acres Complex will be a light color, a white to a creme to a very light brown or grey in color (see the picture below). The cremains will not be a uniform shape, unless the cremains are processed into a finer powder.

  • 7- I got cremains from a company but the cremains are black in color. What does this mean?
If this happens to you. CALL THE OWNER OF THAT COMPANY AND COMPLAIN. This does not necessarily mean this is not your pet. What this means is that the crematory was not left on for a long enough time to finish the cremation process and the company processed the cremation and returned the pet to the owner, instead of finishing the cremation process. This is a money saving trick and it is very unprofessional. Personally, I would complain to the owner of the company and have them cremate the pet again. Below is a picture I took of another company's cremation process, this customer had a concern about the cremains of his pet.

This is what cremains look like that come out of Rolling Acres Complex.  The extra time in the crematory is worth the professional appearance. (Refer in one of the above questions.)  Question #6

Note the color and the non-uniform shapes.

THIS IS BLACK!

This pet was cremated by another company.  This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable in appearance in MY professional opinion. (Refer in one of the above questions.)  Question #7

  • 8- What if my cremains have a uniform shape throughout the cremains?
If you have a consistant uniform shape throughout, more than likely that may not be cremains. As seen in the above picture of our cremains, no uniform shapes. Usually uniform shaping is a commercially made product, such as sand, floor dry or kitty litter.

  • 9- Can I be present for the cremation?
At Rolling Acres Complex, YES, if you want to be present. You can be present for the entire cremation but it does take time. There are no insurance problems or issues, because you will not touch or open the crematory during the cremation process or the cool down, but you can oversee me doing my job. (We do ask you to schedule your cremation, if you want to wait for the cremation.)

  • 10- Can I place my pet into the crematory, so I know I have a private cremation?
As long as the crematory is cold, the first cremation of the day you can do this option.(This option must be scheduled) We do have people that want this option and that is fine as long as it is the first cremation of the day.

  • 11- Can I be present for the removal of my pets cremains?
With Rolling Acres Complex, YES, we can call you when your pet is ready to be removed from the crematory (if you are not already here). After you arrive you can WATCH ME remove and process the cremains and place your pet into his/her container or urn, if desired.

  • 12- Can you get a tour of Rolling Acres Complex?
At Rolling Acres Complex you are more than welcome during business hours to come out and I can show you around.

  • 13- What veterinarian clinic would you recommend?
This depends on your needs and the type of pet you have. Please call and I will gladly help you.

  • 14- Can I be present for the burial of my pet?
With a private burial, we do allow the owners and any of their friends to be present. Being present can help some people with closure and see that their pet is resting in a peaceful, beautiful and dignified place. We do not require you to be present, this is the owners' options.

  • 15- Can I place my pet's toys and special items with my pet for their burial or cremation?
Yes, you may place their toys and special items with your pet for their burial or cremation.

  • 16- How do you do your private cremations, to keep my pet identified? How can I ensure that my pet is cremated PRIVATELY?
At Rolling Acres Complex, our private cremation is cremating one pet at a time. Once that cremation is done that pet is removed and processed into the fine cremains the customer recieves. After processing, the cremains are placed into their urn or container. After the pet is placed into their container or urn, the next pet is placed into the crematory for private cremation. We do offer cremation with the owner being present for placing the pet into the crematory and the removal of their pet from the crematory. (an appointment is need for this option.)

  • 17- The cremation service my veterinarian clinic uses, lost my pet. How does your company prevent this from happenning?
All pets that arrive at Rolling Acres Complex stay at Rolling Acres. Identifing each pet by name and service is the key. Once identified, the pet is then placed into a freezer until there turn with their planned service. We have four deep freezer for storage: one is for private cremations, one is for group cremations, one is for group burials and the last freezer is for private burials. This method, identifing & seperating, ensures that no one is lost or misplaced at Rolling Acres Complex.

  • 18- The cremation service my veterinarian clinic uses, cremated my pet in a group cremation and not in the private cremation as I requested. How does your company prevent this from happenning?
At Rolling Acres Complex, we have four deep freezer for storage: one is for private cremations, one is for group cremations, one is for group burials and the last freezer is for private burials. This method, identifing & seperating, ensures that no one is given the wrong service at Rolling Acres Complex. We also double check the name & service prior to cremating any pet. Our group cremation is done after the pet has been here for a period of time.

  • 19- Can I bury my pet in the backyard of my house?
** City of Lincoln, NE - Ordinance changed July 26, 2010 ** Yes, you can bury in your backyard (residential premises) BUT NOW you must have at least 4 feet of fine soil at ground level on top of all parts of your pet. The pet must weigh less than 150 pounds and burial must be within 24 hours of death. Now, that will be a big hole. Be sure to locate your utilities before you begin to dig!
